Pinocchio and Pablo (Plus Louise Finds a Home)

Pablo, a four year old-grey kitty, was found in the snow about a month ago on New Haven Avenue in Queens. He was emaciated, dehydrated, and his ears were so frostbitten that their tips fell off.

But despite his trauma, he loves people and loves having his face rubbed.

“He’s a friendly cat, he seems to like other cats as well as people,” said Sean Casey, founder of Sean Casey Animal Rescue, where Pablo was brought after he was found. 

Pinocchio was found wandering the streets and taken to the shelter. He was micro-chipped and shelter workers were able to track down his owners. But they wouldn’t take him back, Casey said.

Pinocchio, who is 2 or 3 years old, is a particularly friendly dog, Casey said.

 “You can rub his face, he doesn’t pull away, he’s a very happy dog,” another shelter worker said, demonstrating.

“Just look at his tail. It never stops. No matter what he’s doing, he’s wagging his tail,” Casey said.

Meanwhile, , the pit bull with two different colored eyes who was facing breed discrimination, found a home.

She was adopted by a woman in her 30s and her mother who live in Brighton Beach with two cats.

“They seemed immediately drawn to her,” he said.   

Pinocchio and Pablo are spayed, dewormed, treated to prevent fleas & ticks and are up to date with vaccinations. The adoption fee, $100 for cats and $200 for dogs, which includes a veterinary exam, one free month of pet health insurance and a microchip.
