Bio: Amy Sara Clark was born in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn, and attended P.S. 139, Ditmas J.H.S. and Midwood High School before earning a B.A. and M.A. in history at the University of Michigan.

In 2001 she moved to Prospect Heights to begin a career in journalism. She worked for several area Jewish newspapers, and in 2005, she earned an M.S. from the Columbia School of Journalism. Since then she has worked as a features writer for The Journal News in White Plains, as a producer and occasional political reporter for CBSNews.com and, most recently, as a reporter focusing on politics, government and local news for The Jersey Journal in Jersey City.

She has won awards for responsible journalism and breaking news as well as the 2002 rookie reporter award from the New Jersey Society for Professional Journalists.

She moved back to Ditmas Park in 2006, where she lives with her husband, David, and two sons, Ben, 22 months and Noah, born August 1, 2011. She spends a lot of time with her sister, Melissa Clark, brother-in-law and niece, who live in Prospect Heights.

Beliefs
: At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

Politics: I am a left-leaning Democrat registered with the Democratic Party.

Religion : I am Jewish.

Local Hot-Button Issues : The Atlantic Yards development is of course the most heated issue facing Prospect Heights at the moment. While I am glad to see the Atlantic Yards developing, I am concerned about how a professional sports arena will affect the quality of life of the community. Other major issues include the quality of the schools, whether there should be resident parking permits and crime.

Are there plans for residential parking permits, Amy? If so, who is taking the lead on this? What role can residents play?
