Strong-Arm Robbery and Eastern Parkway Hit-and-Run: Reports From the 77th Precinct

Strong-Arm Mugging on Classon

A 36-year-old woman was walking on Classon Avenue near St. Johns Place when she noticed three teenaged boys walking near her and her companion. Then on of them pushed her to the ground and grabbed her purse. The woman was treated by EMS workers for a bruised knee. She lost $500 worth of property including a Hobo green suede purse, an iPhone 4 $20 in cash and assorted credit cards.

Eastern Parkway Hit-and-Run

A 25-year-old woman reported that a silver car plowed into her at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Bedford Avenue and then took off.  The woman was treated for shoulder injuries at Woodhull Hospital. The incident took place on Dec. 30 at 4:40 a.m.

 

Break-In on Vanderbilt

A 29-year-old man came home from an overnight trip and found his apartment broken into. About $2,550 worth of goods were gone including a silver Tissot watch, a Macintosh laptop and a digital camera. The man wasn’t sure whether he locked his front door.

Double Dean Street Car Thefts

Two older-model cars were stolen in early December: A 37-year-old man reported that someone took his 1997 Ford Expedition Suburban worth $3,000 on the morning of Dec. 4 from Dean Street between Vanderbilt and Washington. In addition,  a 21-year-old man found his 2005 Ford Crown Victoria worth $3,000 taken from Dean Street between Washington and Grand sometime between Dec. 1 and Dec. 3. 

 

Teen Charged With Carrying a Loaded Gun

A 16-year-old boy was charged with carrying a loaded gun in public. Cops noted that he also had with him a DVD with photographs of himself and of the gun. The arrest took place on Dec. 7 at 12:17 p.m.
