Woman Held-Up, Assaulted on Dean

Muggers hit 24-year-old with gun after she refused to give up her purse.

 

Police are looking for gunmen who held up a woman and then hit her in the head with their gun when she refused to surrender her purse. 

The 24-year-old woman was walking home on Dean Street near Franklin Avenue just before 9:50 p.m. on March 15 when a group of muggers came up to her. One of them grabbed her and covered her mouth. Someone pointed a gun at her and told her to hand over her pocketbook, according to a police report.

She refused, and the gunman hit her in the head with the gun. Then they took her iPhone and wallet out of her purse and ran off with an estimated $477 worth of property. The woman did not complain of any injuries.

About three hours later, another woman was pushed down and mugged on Pacific Street.
