Woman Staggers into DWI Arrest

Police arrested a 31-year-old woman after she illegally parked her car and then staggered over to a cop to ask whether her parking job was OK.

Cops saw the woman park the car so that its front end was sticking into the intersection of St. James Place and Atlantic Avenue just before 4:45 a.m. on March 2.

When she got out of the car she was "swaying back and forth," according to the police report.

Then she went up to a cop and said "Did I park the car ok or will I get a ticket? Should I park it somewhere else? Will I get hit there? Is it sticking out too much? I know it's the crosswalk," the report continued.

Noting the woman's "bloodshot watery eyes" and "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath," the cop gave her a Breathalyzer test, which came up as .082. The legal limit is .08.

Bartender Assaulted

A 26-year-old man was charged with assault after a bartender said he repeatedly punched and slapped him when the bartender tried to cut him off.

After the bartender said he had had enough to drink, the man followed him around the bar hitting him. The bartender complained of pain to his face and arm, but refused medical attention from EMS workers. The incident took place at Woodwork, 583 Vanderbilt Ave. at Dean Street just before 2 a.m. on March 3.

Health Club Wallet Theft

A crook snatched a man’s wallet from a Flatbush Avenue gym on Feb. 27.

The 26-year-old victim told police that he went to Crunch Fitness, between Park and Sterling places, to work out at around 6 p.m. After his workout, he left his wallet on a machine. By the time he went back to get it a half-hour later, the wallet was gone. The crook also got away with two credit cards and $60.
