Police Blotter: Underhill Avenue Hit-and-Run and Woman Walks in on Burglars

Underhill Avenue Hit-and-Run

A driver in a white sedan ran a red light, hit a 28-year-old man on a motorcycle and kept driving. The accident took place in the intersection of St. Marks and Underhill avenues on 12:50 a.m. on Friday, April 27. The man refused medical attention, according to a police report.

Woman Surprises Burglars

A 36-year-old arrived home from work to discover two thieves in her apartment. She unlocked the door, but someone inside the apartment was holding it closed. The woman started screaming and two men ran out through the front door with about $9,000 worth of camera and computer equipment. The burglary took place on Lincoln Place between Underhill and Washington avenues at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 4.

 

Bergen Street DWI

A 40-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated after his 2003 BMW  sideswiped a parked limousine on Bergen Street between Vanderbilt and Carlton avenues. The man refused a Breathalyzer test but police described him as having “red, watery, bloodshot eyes, and a moderate smell of alcohol emanating from his breath.” The arrest took place at 12:25 a.m. on Sunday, April 28, according to a police report.

 

50-Year-Old Woman Punched

A 50-year-old woman said that a woman she didn’t know came up to her on Lincoln Place between Classon and Franklin avenues and punched her in  the face, giving her a bloody lip. The attack took place on Monday, April 30 at 8:30 p.m., according to a police report. 

 

Amp Theft

A 29-year-old woman had her car window smashed and a $400 Roland 60 Watt Amp after she left the car parked on Dean Street at Grand Avenue between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4, according to a police report.
