Police Blotter: Guns, Crack and Two Burglaries

Men Arrested with Loaded Guns on Park Place

Cops arrested two men they found with loaded guns at the corner of Park Place and Classon Avenue.

Police stopped 19-year-old and a 23-year-old who were in a 2004 Range Rover at the corner of Park Place and Classon Avenue at about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

The 23-year-old had a .22 caliber Phoenix Arms and the 19-year-old had two loaded guns, a .22 caliber Phoenix Arms and a .25 caliber Titan with the serial number filed off. Both men were charged with weapons possession. The report did not indicate why the Range Rover was stopped.

 

Two Crack Cocaine Arrests

Two people were arrested on the same day charged with having crack cocaine in public view:

  • A 40-year-old man was arrested after cops spotted him with crack cocaine in plain view at the corner of Bergen Street and Classon Avenue at about 10:25 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8.
  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested inside a bodega at the corner of  Franklin Avenue and St. Johns place and charged with having of crack cocaine in public view just before 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8.

 

Burglary on St. Johns Place

A 35-year-old woman came home to discover that someone had broken into her third-floor St. Johns Place apartment and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and electronics.

The thief apparently climbed up the fire escape at the building between Underhill and Washington and got in through a window with a broken lock. Taken was a $1,150 Sony Playstation 3, a Macbook Air laptop worth $1,000, a Tiffany necklace worth $150, a camera and some video games. The burglary took place on Friday Dec. 9, sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. 

 

Burglary on Sterling Place

Someone broke into an apartment on Sterling Place between Classon and Franklin and stolen about $3,250 worth of computer equipment.

A 29-year-old woman came home at about 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, to discover that a thief had apparently come through the back window and taken a $3,000 Macintosh computer as well as well as an iPod, iPod dock and cell phone.

 

Dean Street Marijuana Arrest  

A 62-year-old man was arrested for marijuana possession after cops saw him with it in plain view as he stood in front a an apartment building on Dean Street between Washington and Grand avenues at about noon on Saturday, Dec. 10.

 

Dean Street Playground Cell Phone Swipe

A man’s cell phone was stolen out of his unattended bag while he was playing basketball at the Dean Street Playground on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 10.
