Police Blotter: Baby Abandoned, Toy Gun Stick-Up, More

Toy Gun Stick-Up

Two men were attacked and robbed with a trio of theives with a toy gun as they were walking on Pacific Street between Vanderbilt and Underhill.

A 25-year-old man said that three men came up to him and a friend with the fake firearm and demanded property. Both men were punched in the face and then a bag and an iphone 3G were stolen from the 25-year-old. The thieves took off on foot,  leaving behind a scooter. The attack happened at 2:13 a.m. on Sunday, April 8, according to a police report.

Baby Abandoned

A woman parked her 1-year-old baby’s stroller in front of the boy’s stepfather’s house, rang the bell and then left.

She left the baby on St. Johns Place between Underhill and Washington avenues on Monday, April 2, at about 10 p.m. The boy was uninjured, according to a police report.

 

Bike Thefts

A 40-year-old man reported that his Trek green mountain bike worth $1,200 was stolen from home on Carlton Avenue between St. Marks and Prospect sometime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 5.

In addition, a 31-year-old man said his Bridgestone bicycle worth $1,140 was stolen from where it was locked with a Kryptonite u-lock on Plaza Street East. It was stolen between 1:30 a.m. on March 29 and the morning of March 30, according to a police report.

 

2004 Foreign Green Car Fetish?

In the same week, two 2004 green European-made cars were stolen in Prospect Heights.

A 55-year-old man reported that his green 2004 Volvo S60 was stolen sometime between 10 p.m. on April 1 and 9 p.m. on April 2 from Washington Avenue between Pacific and Dean streets. 

In addition, a 38-year-old woman reported that her green 2004 Volkswagen Passat was stolen from Sterling Place at Vanderbilt Avenue sometime between 9 p.m. on April 4 and 7:20 a.m. on April 5, according to police reports.

 

Motorcycle Theft

A 37-year-old man reported that his locked $16,000 motorcycle was stolen from Prospect Place between Vanderbilt and Underhill avenues sometime between 11:30 p.m. on April 5 and 12:40 p.m. on April 6 , according to a police report.

 

Crack Arrest

A 51-year-old man was arrested after a cop saw him put crack in his mouth. It didn’t appear to help him that when the cop approached him he spit it out and put it in his pocket. The arrest took place on April 6 at 5:25 p.m. at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Prospect Place, according to a police report.
