Photos Released of Man Wanted for Torching Woman in Elevator

Cops ask for help in finding the man who sprayed a woman with accelerant and then set her aflame in an Underhill Avenue apartment building.

Police have released photos of a man they believe in an Underhill Avenue elevator today.

Police said the man was waiting for the woman outside the elevator on the fifth floor this afternoon. As she stepped out “the suspect began to spray her with an unidentified liquid. The suspect then lit the victim on fire and fled the scene,” leaving her to burn to death police said in a written statement.

Five others were injured in the blaze at 203 Underhill Ave., which began just before 4:13 p.m. at the six-story building between St. Johns and Sterling places.
