A 36-year-old man was shot in the head on Washington Avenue Tuesday night and taken to Methodist Hospital where he died, officials said.
The man was shot one in the head and once in the body just before 9:51 p.m. in front of , between between St. Johns and Sterling places, an NYPD spokesman said.
Shortly after the attack, several shops were blocked off by police tape and people stood around in somber groups watching as detectives arrived.
“I hear bang, bang, bang, bang, and a saw somebody lying on the ground,” said Tony Brown, 48, of Sterling Place.
So far, no arrests had been made, the spokesman said.
