Hit-and-Run on Classon and $100K Con: Police Blotter

Bicyclist Hit-and-Run on Classon

A 42-year-old man was the victim of a hit-and-run accident while riding to work shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 14.

The bicyclist was near the corner of Classon Avenue and St. Marks when the car hit him and drove off. The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital with face, head and arm injuries.

$100K Stolen By Con Artist

A St. Marks Avenue Drug Store was victim to a con job that emptied $100,535 from the store's coffers.

A man called the pharmacy on June 22 and told the manager that they were doing a "MoneyGram system upgrade" and told him to enter the confirmation number 100535. Three days later the manager saw that $100,535 had been withdrawn from the store's MoneyGram account.  


Pot Arrest on Atlantic Ave

A 33-year-old man was charged with drug possession after a cop saw him with a joint at the corner of Bedford and Atlantic. The arrest took place on Saturday, July 13 shortly after 7 p.m.
