Cabbie Charged With DWI

A 48-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated after cops discovered him asleep behind the wheel in a running car facing the wrong way on Franklin Avenue, according to a police report.

Cops discovered the 1993 Lexus on Franklin Avenue at St. Johns Place at 2:52 a.m. on June 30. After they woke the driver, he said he had been taking a passenger home and had only had “one Guinness.” However, cops said the man “had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and watery bloodshot eyes.” A Breathalyzer test at the scene gave a blood alcohol reading of .160—twice the legal limit.

 

Babies ‘R Us Credit Card Fraud

A 26-year-old woman reported on June 25 that someone used her bank card to buy $508 worth of baby equipment at a Babies ‘R Us store, according to a police report.

 

Man Found Injured on Franklin Avenue

A 22-year-old man was found with a slashed his forehead and neck at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Prospect Place at 7:10 a.m. on June 28. However the man refused to tell police his name or any details about the assault, according to a police report. 

 

Driver Flees Accident

A 45-year-old woman reported that someone sideswiped her car and drove off instead of waiting for the police. The accident took place at the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Park Place at 5:40 p.m. on June 28, according to a police report
