Cop of the Month: Donald Goldstein

By going the extra mile, this eight-year veteran began an investigation that led to 12 arrests.

When Officer Donald Goldstein was sent to check out a report that someone had shot at a doorway in Albany Houses early last month, he could have just written it up and left.

But instead he stayed and asked questions. An investigation and five search warrants later, Goldstein and his team had arrested 12 people, confiscated illegal drugs including crack and ecstasy and took off the streets four illegal guns.

“These guys took the extra step, asking questions and staying there,” said Deputy Inspector Elvio Capocci, at the 77th Precinct Community Council meeting on April 9. “He did a great job, making the community safer.”
