Blotter: Car Mirror Revenge and St. Johns Place Break-In

St. Johns Place Break-In

A thief made off with about $18,000 worth of electronics from a St. Johns Place apartment including a flat-screen TV, a Nikon D3100 camera a blu-ray player and a PlayStation.  There were no signs of forced entry at the apartment, which is located at the intersection of Underhill Avenue and the 25-year-old resident said he had lost his keys two days earlier. The theft took place between noon on Tuesday May 22 and 1:45 a.m. on May 23, according to a police report.

Mid-Afternoon iPhone Snatch

A person was walking on Eastern Parkway in front of the Brooklyn Museum and talking on an iPhone when someone came up from behind, snatched the phone and ran off. The theft took place on Monday, May 21 at 3:30 p.m., according to a police report.

 

Car Mirror Revenge

A 36-year-old woman was charged with breaking her neighbor’s car mirror after an argument.

The victim told cops that she and the neighbor had the dispute inside their building and when over, she saw the neighbor walk outside and hit the driver’s side mirror of her car so hard that it broke. The incident happened on May 21 that near the intersection of Bergen Street and Washington Avenue and the woman was arrested six days later, according to a police report.

 

License Plate Crime Spree Continues

Following a in early May, two more license plate thefts have occurred, according to police reports:

- A 20-year-old man reported that someone stole the license plate off of his car when it was parked on Bergen Street on Tuesday, May 22. 

- A 30-year-old man said that someone removed both license plates from his car when it was parked on Dean Street at the intersection of Grand Avenue sometime between Monday, May 29 and Tuesday, June 5.

 

Wallet Lift

Someone swiped a 57-year-old man’s wallet with a total of $2,000 cash in it after he left it on a chair while he was working at his office on Vanderbilt Avenue between Pacific and Dean streets. The theft took place between 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. June 8., according to a police report.
