AT&T Store on Flatbush Robbed at Gunpoint

Two men with guns held up the store in a lunch-hour robbery. Luckily there were no injuries.

Two men held up the AT&T store next to American Apparel on Flatbush Avenue this afternoon, police said.

The gun-wielding men made the single employee at the store lie on the floor while they emptied the register of roughly $500 and nabbed between 30 and 40 cell phones. They also stole $100 from the employee, who had just been paid, according to the store's manager.

The men came just before 12:22 p.m. and fled after the robbery. There were no injuries, police said

An hour after the robbery uniformed police and detectives still crowded the small storefront located at 314 Flatbush Avenue at Park Place. 

This is at least the second hold-up on the block in less than two weeks. On March 27 a man with a gun held up American Apparel, making off with about $700, a police said.

"This neighborhood is getting worse and worse," said Yung Kim, who owns DNY Natural Land, a few stores down. 

Kim said his store was held-up eight years ago, with the theives making off with about $3,000 in cash as well as the employees' watches.
