5 Things: Tin Pan Band at The Way Station, Fado at BAM, Weekend Subway Info, more

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event highlights you won't want to miss.

1. You need live music. How about bearing ? This band, featuring American roots music with elements of jazz, blues, county and rock takes the stage at 9. , 683 Washington Ave. No cover. 

2. You need Fado. And who doesn't? Head to  where  will be performing the Portuguese urban folk tunes with an "electric voice and hair-raising performances represent the genre at its most stirring," according to BAM's website. 30 Lafayette Ave. 10 p.m. Free. Get there early to get a good table. Cafe/bar opens at 6. 

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. After a week of renovation, the Pacific Library has re-opened, so head there for Preschool Storytime at 10 a.m. or Arts and Crafts at 4. 25 4th Ave. at Pacific St. Free. Or, see our  for more options and to start planning for the weekend.

4. You need to know if your train is running ... It is! There are no service changes affecting Prospect Heights stations today or over the weekend, according to the MTA

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Sorry, you do. Alternate side won't be suspended again until Thursday, Dec. 8, according to the NYCDOT
