Inaka, the new sushi restaurant on Vanderbilt Avenue opened today.

For the main course, the restaurant offers the standard sushi and Japanese offerings, but will also offer a special each month from another Asian country, Gao said.

In addition, Thai food might eventually be added to the regular menu, Gao said.

Gao and Li, who live in Sunset Park, come to their new venture with hefty restaurant experience. They owned  in Park Slope for seven years, but sold it a few months ago after their co-owner decided to put his share on the market. They have also owned Mizu in Williamsburg for the past five years.

Gao recommends customers try the Black Cod with Miso Sauce, which had been a Mura favorite.

Inaka seats 30 people including some outdoors table in the back garden. In addition to the food, the restaurant will serve wine and beer, but not hard alcohol.

It offers take-out and delivery to anywhere within about 15 minutes by car, Gao said.
