Back 9 Grill to Open on Vanderbilt in Early May

A gastropub with a golf theme will replace Eton, which closed in November,

Yet another beer and burger joint is coming to Vanderbilt, this one distinguishing itself with a golf theme.

Last week Patch stopped by "The Back 9 Grill" and checked out the decor, which is full of dark wood and brick, with antique golf clubs, signs and photos lining the walls. 

We haven't heard back yet from the owner, who also owns next door, but according to Brownstoner, the bar will serve "tasty American comfort food with fresh ingredients made from scratch," including burgers, wings, mac and cheese and beer and wine.

It is slated to open early May.

The bar replaces the short-lived dumpling shop at 635 Vanderbilt Ave. between St. Marks and Prospect, which .
