 Brooklyn Children’s Museum is summoning all goblins big and small to celebrate the harvest season and Halloween. Children of all ages are encouraged to attend dressed in their best Halloween finery.  The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Prospect Park Zoo is hosting its annual Boo at the Zoo—a family-friendly Halloween extravaganza—all day Saturday and Sunday. Festivities include costumes, arts and crafts, a spooky barn, and treats for the animals that will make this a frighteningly fun weekend. , 450 Flatbush Ave., Free with admission ($8 adults, $5 children 3-12).

 What secrets and surprises have been uncovered by the latest scientific research into the Brooklyn Museum's mummies' previous lives? What mysteries still remain? Just in time for Halloween, this tour, led by Museum Guide Roy Capps, will explore mysterious and practical objects associated with the Ancient Egyptian's belief in the afterlife, the secret lives of mummies, and the power of the Book of the Dead. 4 p.m. , 200 Eastern Parkway, Free with museum admission, $10 adults, kids under 12 free.

Haunted Carousel It’s time for a spooky, scary, spin on the Haunted Carousel. Who knows what little creatures will accompany you on your ride. Ample Hills Customer Appreciation Halloween Party The 6-month-old Vanderbilt Avenue ice cream shop is showing its gratitude with a day of festivities including live music, craft projects, a chance to make ice cream on the ice-cream-churning bike, plenty of free treats to sample and 25% off all day. 623 Vanderbilt Avenue at St. Marks. 1-10 p.m. Free.
