Following the sixth Brooklyn Museum Restaurant Week in March, which did not feature any Bushwick restaurants, the first Bushwick Restaurant Week kicks off today.

Founded by local chefs Bob Murray and Nick Gilbert, the restaurant week features discounts and specialty dishes from about 30 restaurants across Bushwick, including Brooklyn Fireproof, Mominette, Burger It Up and Evergreen Ice Cream, which will have $5 bottomless ice cream.

Brooklyn Fireproof, Burger It Up and Shinobi Ramen are among the eateries offering a 15 percent food discount and specialty menu items.

“I feel really optimistic this will showcase all Bushwick has to offer in the culinary arena,” Murray said according to DNAinfo.com.

Murray and Gilbert have also partnered with Uber, a taxi-ordering smartphone service, to offer free cab rides (up to $30) to or from any participating restaurant using the promo code “Bushwick.”
