5 Things: Transit Trivia, Celtic Fusion and Christmas Tree Pick-Up Ending

Prospect Heights-area information and eventsyou won't want to miss.

1. Drop some knowledge.
Tonight the MTA Transit Museum is throwing its inaugural underground Trivia Night, with transit-themed questions hosted and posited by Stuart Post and Chris Kelley. 6:30 p.m. $15 tickets at the door. Prizes for winners and refreshments for all.

2. Drink and Dance. If you want to stay in the neighborhood never fear, there's a lot going on. For country/punk followed by "high-energy Celtic fusion," head to Painless Parker + Baroque & Hungry + The Waysties at The Way Station. For some non-transit trivia, head to Branded Saloon for Thirsty Thursday Trivia with Mona Mour. To dance your heart out, head to Live Salsa Night Eve's Lounge.

3. Take down the tree (already!). Last call for Christmas trees! If you don't bring yours out to the sidewalk by Saturday, Jan. 19, the city will not be picking them up after that.

4. Set a Google alert. Tomorrow tickets go on sale for two Barclays Center events that are sure to be in high demand: Legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman & Cantor Yitzhak Meir Helfgot will perform their signature version of "Jewish comfort music" on Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. (I saw these two perform at Lincoln Center recently and it is a very special experience.) For those more indie-minded, look for the release of tickets for Brooklyn's own The National, scheduled to play on June 5 at 8 p.m. (Plus, Youth Lagoon will open!) Ticket prices vary. Check the Barclays site for more information.

5. Move the car. Unfortunately alternate side is in effect today. The next suspension is Monday, Jan. 21 for MLK Day.
