Saturday, May 19 

 This annual celebration of the cultural vitality of Africa and its disapora begins with the Council of Elders performing libation ceremonies to honor those who have passed on to the ancestral grounds, followed by Afro-Cuban and Haitian dance, drumming and more. Weeksville Heritage Center, 1698 Bergen St., 10 a.m. Free. 

 Volunteers will gear up with brooms, shovels, rakes and trash grabbers to tackle a major cleanup effort. Meet us at the Bandshell for this major spring cleaning event. , Prospect Park W & 9th St, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free.
