 Each week Annie Nieves will lead the group in an art project that promotes creativity and experimentation. The class also includes some independent play and concludes with music and a sing-a-long.  Help the museum honor the families who give so much while serving our country and who may have missed celebrating their child’s special day together with cake, crafts and a performance by the Patriot Brass Ensemble. Skate Truck at Prospect Park Want to go roller skating with the kids but don't want to invest in the equipment? Today there will be skate and safety equipment rental and instruction by Skate Truck NYC at the 3rd Street entrance to the Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last rental at 3 p.m.). The truck will be at the park periodically over the summer (see link).

Lefferts House Events Today the historic house is hosting Race Around the Farmyard, where the whole family can participate in potato sack races, stilts and other old-fashioned games (2:30 to 3:30 p.m.) Lefferts Historic House at Prospect Park (Use entrance at Empire Boulevard and Flatbush and Ocean Avenues), Kids free, $3 suggested for adults.

 Make all-natural and recycled crafts with a new project each week. The Audubon Center at the Boathouse (just inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park). 1-2 p.m., all ages, Free.

Transit Museum: Windows of the Elevated Many of today’s elevated subway stations feature faceted glass scenes of the surrounding community and local culture. Kids will see examples of these vivid installations and then design their own. For ages 5+ 1:30 p.m. New York Transit Museum, Corner of Boerum Pl & Schermerhorn St, 1:30 p.m., Free with museum admission (adults $7, kids 2-17 and seniors $5).  

Puppetworks' The Jungle Book Rudyard Kipling's 1894 fables of India
with an original song score adapted for Marionettes. Suggested for kids 3+. Reservations suggested at 718-965-3391 or puppetworks@verizon.net. 338 Sixth Ave. at Fourth Street. 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. $8 adults, $7 kids (note, no credit cards accepted).

Prospect Park Discover Tour Find out how to use binoculars to spot some of the incredible species of birds that call Prospect Park home. Learn the history of the Boathouse and see little-known curiosities about the Park and its animal residents. Meet at The Audubon Center at the Boathouse (just inside the Lincoln Road/Ocean Ave. entrance to Prospect Park). For adults and older kids. 3-4 p.m. Free.
