Every week we will give you the lowdown on kids events in Prospect Heights as well a selection from North Park Slope and South Fort Greene.

Monday, April 4

 Want to talk to other Park Slope dads and learn how to better play and communicate with your little ones? Check out this group for fathers and children of all ages. Discussions are led by clinical social worker Susannah Gersten and speech language pathoglogist Craig Selinger.  Bring your favorite movies and DVDs and watch them in the library's television room. , Youth Wing - Teen Reading Room, 2:30-5:30 p.m., 13-18 years, Free.

 Enjoy intriguing books for babies, learn exciting songs and rhymes, and meet other families in the neighborhood at this fun program.  Youth Wing, 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., 0 – 18 months, Free.

 Explore art, science, and culture in a fun and wacky way!  11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., ages 5 and under, Free.

Mathletes @ City Explorers Young tots will practice recognizing colors, numbers, and shapes in this energetic class through the use of songs, stories, and games. , 186 Underhill Ave, 1-3 years, $35 (includes use of play space for entire day).

Song Circle @ City Explorers Sing your favorite fun songs and play all day! , 186 Underhill Ave, 3:30-4 p.m., 1-4 years, $10 (includes use of play space for entire day).

Hip 2 the Hop @ City Explorers Move your feet and dance to the beat! , 186 Underhill Ave, 9:45-10:30 a.m., 1-3 years, $35.

Kid Fitness @ City Explorers Based on the award winning PBS television series Kid Fitness, this family-friendly prgram fuses a fun fitness program with creative play and structured games simple enough to bring back home.  , 186 Underhill Ave, 11-11:45 a.m., 1-6 years, $35.

Friday, April 8

 Bring your little dirt detective to the museum and get ready to dig in search of soil's hidden treasures - even create a mud painting. , 11:30 a.m., 18 mos-2 1/2 years, Free with admission.

 Beginner and advanced players are invted to play together. , Youth Wing - Teen Reading Room, 4-5 p.m., Teens, Free.

 Visit the Totally Tots Art Studio at Brooklyn Children’s Museum and discover all the activites that are in store for your young Picasso. , 2:30 p.m., ages 5 and under, Free with admission.

Dinner and a Movie Date Night Sign up for 4 hours of supervised fun and a child-friendly movie viewing for your little one while you enjoy a night out on the town. Pizza dinner and organic juice included, and you can even drop off your child with a sleeping bag. , 186 Underhill Ave, 6-10 p.m., $50/child, 25% off each additional child.

Saturday, April 9

 This bilingual (Spanish/ English) puppet show was created for babies and children up to 4 years old. Children will delve into a magical world of puppetry that focuses on visual, auditory and verbal stimuli.  The repetitive actions and simple musical rhythms help babies focus, and toddlers will be entertained in a creative, stimulating environment. The performance runs 25 minutes to cater to infants' and toddlers' limited attention span. Gumbo, 493 Atlantic Ave. (bet. Cereal Saturdays Sign up your little one for 4 hours of supervised fun while you enjoy the morning to yourself. Sunday, April 10

 this local children's band will play songs from their newly released CD ‘Time for Hummus," along with all-time familiar favorites, including  "Brown Bear."  Gumbo, 493 Atlantic Ave. bet. Nevins and Third Avenue. 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. $18 first child, siblings $2, adults free.

Miss Nina and her pink guitar keep babies and toddlers happy and laughing with fun stories and songs. , 686 Fulton St., 11 a.m. Free.
