1. , 613 Vanderbilt Ave. bet. Bergen and St. Marks

Ok, maybe the fact that I have a 11-month old makes me prejudiced, but I love this store. Named after the charming owner's daughter and her dog, Livie and Boo is a bright, well-arranged store featuring a nice selection of "nearly new" children's clothing and new gifts and toys. A train table and activity center keeps little ones occupied while their parents shop, sell, and swap. Boo the dog can often be found behind the counter.

2. , 820 Washington Ave. at St. John's Place

Calabar Imports is a colorful store filled with one-of-a-kind jewelry, home decor, fashions, accessories, aromatics and gifts. Everything in the shop is handmade by artisans in Africa, Asia and Central and South America. 3. , 71 6th Ave. at Bergen

Although it's a flower shop, it also has a nice collection of French dish towels, plates and other gifts and is one of my favorite places to pick up a quick present.

 4. , 466 Bergen St., bet. Flatbush and 5th Ave.

Eponymy is a part boutique clothing store, part thrift store, part art gallery. Its main focus is women's attire, but owner Andrea Miller chooses a range of modern and vintage products. Everything you see in the store is for sale.

5. Redberi, 319 Flatbush Ave. bet. Prospect and Park places

This place has not only some really cool clothing, but also great accessories including tights and scarves.
