5 Things: Prospect Park Gala Friday and Late-Night Q-Train Delays

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need to support Prospect Park's playgrounds. Head to the park's Boathouse for the playground committee's  The event takes place Friday, June 1, from 7 to 10 p.m. and tickets start at $85. 

2. You need to see the Keith Haring exhibit. As part of "Thursdays at 7," at the , there's a tour tonight:  at 7. Other events include a , also at 7 and at tour  at 6. Events are free with suggested museum admission of $12.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. Take Prospect Heights' littlest citizens to Babies and Books at the  (10 or 10:30 a.m. 0-18 months. Free). Older tots can hit a  at  (755 Dean St. at Underhill Ave., 10:30 a.m., $5/family). See our  for more options. 

4. You need to know if your train is running ... Between 11:45 p.m. and 5 a.m. all week, Q trains are running every 30 minutes between Atlantic Avenue and Stillwell Avenue. Brooklyn-bound trains will drop you at Pacific and you will have to walk to Atlantic and wait for the next leg (the reverse Manhattan-bound), according to the MTA.

5. ... And if you have to move your car. You do; the next alternate side suspension won't be until Wednesday, July 4, according to the NYCDOT. (The next alternate side suspension that actually helps people in Prospect Heights won't be until Monday, August 20 for Idul-Fitr, sigh.)
