5 Things: Haunted Walk, Carnival and Carousel, Boo at the Zoo, Flappers Ball, More

Prospect Heights-area information and events you won't want to miss.

1. You need to start Halloween early. There are about a this weekend, but one of the most intriguing is Prospect Park's Haunted Walk & Carnival, where you can brave ghouls, goblins and possibly some snow. Afterwards, hit the carnival and food trucks at the Nethermead. Prospect Park, Nethermead/Lookout Hill. Noon. Free.

2. You need to party like it's 1929. Head to The Way Station for The Flappers Delight All Hallows Eve Ball with Rosie 151 and the Red Hook Ramblers. Come by for a costume contest, drink specials, candy and more. 683 Washington Avenue, 8 p.m.  

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. There are SO many Halloween events today it's hard to choose. Three biggies are , with its haunted barn and baby bat,  at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, which has a Victorian theme this year, and Prospect Park's . See our  for all of today's Halloween happenings.

4. You need to know if your train is running ... All weekend there are no No. 2 trains between Brooklyn and Manhattan. Take the No. 5 or R trains to nearby stations instead, according to the MTA.

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Sadly, you do. Alternate side won't be suspended again until Tuesday, Nov. 1 for All Saints Day, according to the NYCDOT.
