5 Things: Botanic Garden Cherry Blossom Festival and Voter Registration Drive

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event highlights you won't want to miss.

 

1. You need to get to the Cherry Blossom Festival. The blossoms may have already peaked, but the  is jam packed with performances, workshops and other events for both kids and adults. Plus, the peonies and lilacs are at their full glory right now. , 1000 Washington Ave., 10 a.m.-6 p.m. $15.

2. You need to change your voter registration. You moved to the neighborbood ages years ago, but you haven't gotten around to it. Today is your day because the Prospect Heights Area Democrats for Reform are holding a  in front of  this afternoon. 632 Vanderbilt Ave., bet. Prospect and Park places. 2-5 p.m.

4. You need to know if your train is running ... There are no planned service changes affecting Prospect Heights stations all weekend. However, you should note that all weekend, Manhattan-bound Q trains are running through the tunnel, so leave extra time. In addition, there will be no 4 trains south of Brooklyn Bridge, but 3 train service will be extended to New Lots Avenue, according to the MTA

5. ... And if you have to move your car. Not today of course, but try to grab a Tues/Fri spot because alternate side won't be suspended again until Thursday, May 17 for Solemnity of the Ascension, according to the NYCDOT.
