5 Things: Late Night Q- and 4-Train Troubles, Dueling Trivia Nights, Land Use Discussion, More

Prospect Heights-area subway, alternate side and event information you won't want to miss.

1. You need to get active in your community. Tonight there's the monthly meeting of the Brooklyn Neighborhood Congress, a group that advocates for Brooklyn as a whole. At tonight's meeting, the group will discuss how to protect the character of our borough's neighborhoods with City Council members Gale Brewer, chair of the Governmental Operations Committee and Leroy Comrie, Jr., chair of the council's Land Use Committee.The Prospect Park Residence, 5th floor, 1 Prospect Park West (between President & Union Sts.), 7-8 p.m. Free.

2. You need trivia. Tonight there are two choices,  at 8 p.m. and  at 9 p.m. Either way, no cover.

3. You need to get the kids out of the house. Go no further than Underhill Avenue, where today there's . The weekly event includes not only stories and songs but also sign language. , 755 Dean St (at the corner of Underhill Ave), 10:30 a.m., $5/family. See our  for more options.

4. You need to know if your train is running ... Between 12:01 and 5 a.m. all week, Q trains are running every 30 minutes between Atlantic Avenue and Stillwell Avenue. Brooklyn-bound trains will drop you at Pacific and you will have to walk to Atlantic and wait up to 30 minutes for the next leg (the reverse Manhattan-bound). In addition, there are no No. 4 trains between Grand Central-42 St and Utica/New Lots Ave. 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, but the No. 3 train and the 42nd Street shuttle will run all night. 5. ... And if you have to move your car. You do. Alternate side won't be suspended again until Monday, Jan. 16 for MLK day, according to the NYCDOT.
