Given my experience thus far in getting the American & MIA flags in Mount Prospect Park retired & replaced, I've decided to turn up the heat or volume...you know your metaphors better than I do.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not anybody's Yankee-Doodle-Dandy, but after nearly 60 years in the land of the free and the home of the brave, I've kinda developed my own personal relationship with the Old Stars & Stripes.
Maybe it's the Fort McHenry thing, but I can no longer tolerate seeing an American flag in the condition of the one currently dangling like a limp rag in a park I visit daily. The park house has suggested I visit the Arsenal for who knows what reason.
All I ask is that The Department of Parks retire the flag properly and replace it or give ME the KEY to flagpole and the community will do this right. Both WE and OUR flag have earned that much...don't ya' think?
