After the tour, explore our galleries which tell for the first time the story of the historic Brooklyn Navy Yard, from its opening in 1801 as one of Americas first naval ship yards to its present as home to the greatest concentration of manufacturing and green businesses in New York City. Cutting-edge interactive media offers access to oral histories of, among others, some of the nation's first Rosie the Riveters, and never-before-seen artifacts, photographs, audio and video footage and ship models.
