Seafood Throwdown at Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket

Join us this Saturday for the third annual Seafood Throwdown featuring our friends at Slow Food NYC and The Brooklyn Food Coalition. Thanks to the Villanis of Blue Moon Fish for supplying the secret locally caught seafood for this Iron-Chef style cooking competition. This year's event will be emceed by Matt Timms of The Takedown so you know it'll be good! GrowNYC Executive Director Marcel Van Ooyen, Stephanie Villani of Blue Moon Fish, and reigning champion Cheryl Smith of Cheryl’s Global Soul will bring their expertise to the judges’ stand. We don't know which team will take home the gold, but with all of these sustainable food advocacy organizations promoting local seafood, the real winners are definitely our fisheries.
