Fiddlefest! / NPF School of Music

Over 200 musicians from 26 New York public schools will converge in one place for the Noel Pointer Foundation’s 10th Annual Fiddlefest. Founded in 1995, the Noel Pointer Foundation (NPF) is a not-for-profit that dramatically enriches children's lives by developing string music education programs for underserved communities throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Since 1998, NPF’s In-School String Program, funded in part by the NYC Department of Education, has served over 17,500 Pre-K through 12 grade public school students. Fiddlefest is a rare opportunity for all of the students served by NPF to come together, mingle, and most importantly play music with each other & their Teaching Artists. These young musicians will present everything from folk (exp. “Blueberry Jam” by Bonnie Greene) to classical music (exp. “Perpetual Motion” by Suzuki). NPF Teaching Artists, as the New Legacy String Ensemble, will give a special performance of the late Noel Pointer’s “Night Song”.
