Patiently lurking in the shadows of the New York improv scene for the past eight years, American Folk is known for lengthy multi-directional instrumental pieces. Combining elements of free jazz and rock with whatever sediments of musical activity can be sifted from each player's psyche, the Folk play from a level of consciousness somewhat removed from the purely rational, on occasion transforming a performance into something much better, much higher than expected.

Bucky Hayes is a Brooklyn-based, by way of Georgia, Singer-Songwriter. Influenced by the melodies and craftsmanship of classic country and soul music, he constructs his own tunes and sound with roots in these styles filtered through the urban experiences which are his everyday existence.
