Do We Matter???

As our Borough, by far, has become extremely popular and sort after, I am finding that our City government is making decisions concerning our community, without properly hearing suggestions from the residents. Although, a lover of bike riding, bike lanes have been placed all over our district and many believe that it has caused great tensions in the community, for there are bike lanes which overlap car lanes and it is gravely dangerous. I think, maybe for suggestion, and for the safety of riders, bikers could have their own route, which would not be on highly populated streets shared by cars, trucks and/or buses, if possible. Advice to fellow bikers, as your elected official, please don't ride side by side with your friends and children. Everyone is NOT a safe driver. Children are precious and if you want to teach your children how to ride, consider taking them to the park or maybe riding with them on a side street. It's nerve wrecking to see a family, with tiny ones, riding along side a City bus. Please be careful. Buses and trucks are too powerful to contend with on the road. Therefore, I urge everyone to utilize the democracy that we have in this Country and call our governing elected officials and express to them your advice and concerns. We, as electeds will only know what you want, if you tell us. So, if you want to properly be heard...SPEAK UP. Do we the people matter? Yes, we matter! We have great elected officials that care. Utilize them. Let's work together.
