Morant, who lives in Fort Greene, tutors students at P.S. 208 three days a week after school, other days (and sometimes even on the same day) she also volunteers at the Stuyvesant Gardens Community Center where she helps kids at the afterschool program with homework, gives out snacks and plays games with them.

At Medger Evers College she’s taking a 3-credit Freshman Seminar, which meets two evenings a week.

At New Faith Baptist Church, she sings in the choir, is on the usher board and in the youth group.

Key to Awesomeness: How does she do it all? Morant says she just tries “to stay busy.”

Her mom, Froney Morant says all the volunteering comes from her generous nature. “I think she likes helping people,” she said.

And the schoolwork? “She’s constantly studying. She’s constantly reading. I know she focuses a lot on what she has to do,” her mother said.
