Last Day to Donate Coats for NYC Cares Drive

You have until midnight to drop them off at the 78th Precinct at 6th Ave. and Bergen or any police station.

Just a reminder that today is the last day to donate coats for the NYC Cares coat drive.

Perhaps you've donated in past years, but if you can find a spare parka or raincoat in they really need them this year. 

As of Dec. 21 the drive has only collected 20 percent of what they need: 20,000 of the 100,000 coats necessary.

Last year donations were also down and 10,000 kids didn't get coats, according to New York Cares, which runs the 23-year-old drive.

So, if you're able to find something, here's where to drop them off in Prospect and Crown Heights (or see map for more options):

  • The NYPD 78th Precinct, 65 6th Ave. at Bergen St., 24 hours
  • Storage Deluxe, 900 Atlantic Ave. at Underhill, Mon-Sat: 9am-7pm, Sun: 9am-2pm
  • The NYPD 77the Precinct, 127 Utica Ave. at Bergen St., 24 hours  

Coats should be gently used and freshly laundered.
