MTA To Increase G Train Service

L train also getting a boost.

Brooklyn Assemblyman Joe Lentol announced on Facebook this week that the MTA has pledged to add service on the L and G lines. Hurray! Your 10 minute wait at Fulton Street is now eight-and-a-half minutes.

Sarcasm aside, this is good news, Lentol said, given the MTA's recognition that Brooklyn is, in fact, growing and full of people who enjoy and use mass transit.

"I am happy to see the MTA making the necessary additions to accommodate the ever-growing population here in North Brooklyn," Lentol said. "The L train and G train are the only two consistent and swift modes of transportation in the area, ensuring that they are running at their highest levels to meet demand is essential."

Specifically, the G train will now have increased trips during rush hours (8 a.m. -9 a.m. and 7 p.m. - 11 p.m.). Starting summer 2014, the G will run more frequently between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays, as well.

L trains will get more frequent on weekends between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m., as well.
