Hello Brooklyn. I was born and raised in Brooklyn. We moved out to New Jersey in 1999 but as they say you can take the kid outta Brooklyn but you can't take Brooklyn outta the kid! Growing up in Brooklyn was awesome because Brooklyn was the world. If you are from Brooklyn you are unique in a special way. There really are no people like Brooklyn people. Our personalities, smiles, charms, charisma and sense of humor coupled with street smart savvy make us what we are. The very best! But there does come a time when you gotta move on up and out. Its not fair that we keep all of our greatness to ourselves. We need to share it with New Jersey.
No matter how far we travel or where we live Brooklyn is always home. We call Howell, New Jersey home now and it is a great place to live. It is one of the top 15 safest places to live in New Jersey (#13) and it has so many amenities including shopping, ease of access to major highways, easy commuter access to NYC and great shopping. Brooklyn has better night life but Howell has a better quality of life.
One of the greatest things is waking up early in the morning and watching the deer make their way through the woods as you sip a nice cup of coffee. While we are considered suburban by our Brooklynite friends we really have the best of both worlds. We have excellent parks, schools, shopping, roads and even restaurants and entertainment as well as farms, reservoirs, beaches, fishing and great entertainment (Count Basie, PNC Arts Center, Red Bank etc...). So many Brooklyn EXPATS have opened up businesses here that it seems like the old neighborhood sometimes. We even have Top Tomato in Freehold.
I would like to encourage anyone looking for a better quality of life for themselves and their families to consider looking down in Freehold, Howell or Jackson. I have just been licensed as a Real Estate Sales Person.
