Photo Gallery: Sacred Lotus In Full Bloom at Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Dramatic late summer displays around the Lily Pool Terrace delight crowds.

Visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden this Labor Day weekend and head over to the Lily Pool Terrace to catch sight of elegant Sacred Lotus aquatic plants in full bloom.

Perennial 'Nelumbo nucifera' is unique because it's large graceful leaves, seed pods as well as buds and showy open flowers exist all at once. One of the most photographed scenes in the garden, this setting changes with the seasons.

Sharing the attention of the many visitors equipped with cameras are the colorful annual and perennial borders that have  overflowed their beds onto paths and benches.
