The Lady Panthers finished the 2010-2011 regular season with a 8-6 record in the division.  That record landed Barton a spot in the post-season following their inaugural season in the Brooklyn A East.

"To the girls this is a big accomplishment," said Bedell. "For me its business as usual but I am happy for the girls as it is a big deal."  The Lady Panthers have reached the post-season the past two seasons as a member of the Brooklyn B North Division.  However, this season against tougher competition they have their eyes set on winning it all.

"We can make it all the way if we really play together we can do it," said senior guard Diana Deroche.  Barton truly played together as team throughout the regular season en route to a third place finish in their division.  Deroche filled in a point guard for the first time in her varisty career and stabilized the Lady Panthers offense.

If Barton is to be successful in the playoffs they are aware that they are going to have to continue the hard work they displayed during the regular season. "We have to work as a team and have confidence in ourselves if we are to get far," said senior point guard Jennifer Carver.

The Lady Panthers will get their first tasted of A- level post-season comeption on Thursday as they travel to the Bronx to battle the Harper of Samuel Gompers High School.

The opening round playoff game will mark Barton's first game in three weeks as the last two games of the regular sseason were early forfeits to Prospect Heights and East New York Family Academy.  Despite the long layoff the team is not concerned about rust.  They are just eager to play and make some noise in the post-season.

"In order to be successful I think  it will take consistency, focus and toughness,"stated Bedell. "All the intagibles, all of the little things. If we play that part of our game then I think we will be successful."
