Knicks Embarrass Nets in Brooklyn

What was supposed to be a clash between two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference when it was penciled into the schedule this offseason was a meeting of two of the worst teams in the NBA.

But when the New York Knicks came to the Barclays Center to face the Brooklyn Nets with a combined record of 8-26, the sentiment was more along the lines of, "well, somebody has to win." And not only did the Knicks come out victorious and end their nine-game skid, they did so in emphatic fashion as they took over Brooklyn in a 113-83 win.

The loss for the Nets was their second straight by more than 20 points and came in embarrassing fashion as Knicks fans controlled the noise at the Barclays Center for most of the night.

With the loss, the Nets and Knicks are tied for last at the bottom of the Atlantic Division, but just 2.5 games out of first place in the NBA's weakest division. With that, a quick winning streak could vault either one of these teams into the No. 4 seed in the playoffs.
