Kidd Plans to Push D-Will for Nets This Season

After down season, new coach plans to push Nets point guard to his limits.

The Nets have a brand new coach this season, and if what he says in the papers is true, the team's point guard is about to get a big push from the new man on the sidelines.

Nets rookie coach Jason Kidd told the New York Daily News Monday that he plans to push Deron Williams to up his game this year, after a down season for the team's debut in Brooklyn.

Williams was the team's marquee player last season, but now he's surrounded by a cast of big names and former champions. Running a floor with Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Joe Johnson is going to be no simple task.

"His strength is when he’s in the open court," Kidd told the paper. "So we’ll definitely talk about that on the daily, about him making things happen without having to set the ball up."
