The Bergen Loves Brooklyn Festival

The Bergen Loves Brooklyn Festival will kick off at 9 AM on Saturday, September 10th in the open space between 450 & 448 Bergen Street with a meditative Yoga class hosted by one of the most sought after yogis from Lululemon accompanied by live music. Later in the day experience the fine art of cigar rolling from start to finish, and admire the exotic bikes being showcased in the custom motorcycle show presented by Private Stock and Denim & Chrome. Be sure to indulge in some of our local foodie favorites while cheering for your favorite 1950’s era inspired pin up girl models in contest sponsored by Sailor Jerry Rum. The festival will also feature local DJ’s, live music, interactive performances, wall projections, food, cocktails & giveaways! Pick you pleasure, or indulge in them all.

Events for Saturday, September 10th on the block include:

9:00 am – 10:30 am   Lululemon Athletica hosts an open level yoga class to kick off your Saturday morning. Get a good sweat in the September sun with yogi Derek Beres... and expect to flow with some great tunes!

11:00 am – 11:45am  Bring the little ones out for a Kids Class with Lauren Maples of Bija Kids Yoga.

12:00 pm – 7:30 pm   The Bergen Feast featuring the very best NY food trucks rated by NY Magazine.

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm Dance Wave is bringing dance out of the studio and into your community spaces by offering a free Hip Hop dance class outdoors in the open lot.

2:00 pm – 7:00pm  Private Stock the Gentleman's Shop and Denim & Chrome present 2nd  Annual Custom Motorcycle Show

2:00 pm – 8:00pm Experience a master cigar roller hand roll fresh cigars. These well traveled, Cuban & Dominican-trained cigar rollers will demonstrate the entire cigar rolling process from start to finish.

2:30 pm – 3:30pm  Bergen Idol – Brooklyn’s best and most outrageous sing their hearts out for a chance at becoming the next Bergen Idol.

3:00 pm La Vedette’s Annual Pin-up Girl contest registration starts

4:00 pm -5:00 pm       Live Performance by Black Alley.  Determined to create an original musical elixir, Black Alley has taken the finest ingredients of funk, jazz, soul, rock, and go-go to create a sound uniquely their own –- they call it soul garage.

6:00 pm Pin-up Girl judging begins

6:30 pm Motorcycle winners are announced

7:00 pm – 8:00 pm Live Performance by Emily Brooke.

 

About The Bergen Loves Brooklyn Festival

The Bergen Loves Brooklyn Festival will raise money for Safe Horizon (www.safehorizon.org). Safe Horizon aids victims of domestic violence, child abuse, rape, sexual assault, stalking, and teen runaways. The organization runs an emergency hotline service, domestic violence shelters, child advocacy centers, a Streetworks program for homeless teens, counseling centers, court-based programs, and school-based anti-violence programs.
