This is a walk-a-thon worth travelling to Manhattan for!

The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit voluntary health organization whose sole mission is to find a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease); improve the lives of people with ALS; and advocate issues of importance to the ALS community. ALSA is a member of the National Health Council.

Proceeds from the event will go to The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter. As one of The ALS Association’s leading chapters, the Greater New York Chapter serves New York City, Long Island, Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, and Northern & Central New
Jersey and plays a major role in fighting for an effective treatment and cure for ALS.

The 5th Annual Walk to Defeat ALS fundraiser in Manhattan on begins at Hudson River Park’s Pier 46 (Charles Street and the West Side Highway) in Manhattan.

Opening ceremonies begin at 10:30 AM.

The walk will span 2.75 miles and will end at Clinton Cove, Pier 96 at 57th Street. The walk is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Dogs must be leashed.

At the end of the walk there will be amusing activities such as face painting, live music, and other fun & games. Q104.3 DJ Ken Dashow will act as Celebrity Emcee. He will join the over 2,000 participants expected to attend.
