Where is My Polling Place?

It's Primary Day in New York City, and that means it's time for you to march to the polls and do your civic duty.

In NYC, the polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. New York has a closed primary system, meaning you must be registered with a political party to vote in the primary.

New York parties include:

  • Democratic
  • Republican
  • Conservative
  • Working Families
  • Independence
  • Green
Candidates must earn 40 percent of the vote on Primary Day in order to win the nomination outright. Without a 40 percent vote,  a runoff will be held Oct. 1 between the top two vote getters.

Find your polling site via the Board of Elections at their website here.
