Q-Train IS Running this Weekend, Thanks to the Snow

MTA cancels service changes due to expected storm.

Just when we thought winter wasn't going to happen, snow is predicted for Brooklyn. And if the promise of sledding and snowmen isn't enough, there's one more reason to jump for joy: the Q Train WILL be running.

Thanks to the 2- to 3-inches expected this weekend, the Metropolitan Transit Authority has canceled most of its planned track work, meaning the Q Train will be running to and from Manhattan.

The frequent weekend cancellations have been taking place so that transit workers can complete renovations and repairs. On those weekends, the MTA has been running a shuttle bus from the Seventh Avenue Station to Atlantic, where you could pick up the N or R (or south to Prospect Park, the Q train still runs from there to Coney Island).

But this weekend we will have the Q, though we might pay for it with an additional Q-less weekend later.
