Prospect Heights Democrats for Reform Announces 2012 Endorsements

Recommendations include Hakeem Jeffries over Edolphus Towns in 10th Congressional District

Prospect Heights Democrats for Reform met last night at Duryea Baptist Church to hear pitches from several local candidates and to issue their endorsements for the upcoming June Democratic primaries.

After hearing speeches from a broad range of candidates, they endorsed:

-Hakeem Jeffries (D) over incumbent Edolphus Towns in the 10th Congressional District

-Eric Adams (D) for re-election in the 20th State Senate District.

-Velmanette Montgomery (D) for re-election in the 18th State Senate District

-Walter Mosley (D) to replace Jeffries in the 57th Assembly District.

-Olaniki Alabi (D) to retain her position as co-District Leader in the 57th District.

-Chris Owens (D) for re-election as co-District Leader in the 52nd District.

-Jo Anne Simon (D) for re-election as co-District Leader in the 52nd District.

PHFDR refrained from endorsing in the 52nd Assembly District and the 11th Congressional District because no candidates attended from those races attended the meeting.
