How Should Yvette Clarke Vote on a Syria Strike?

With Congress getting a vote on the issue, let your representative know where you stand.

President Barack Obama this weekend said he will let the U.S. congress decide on whether to attack Syria after an alleged chemical weapons attack by Syrian President Bashar Assad that killed hundreds of children and violated international rules of war.

As Americans are "weary of war," the president said in his Saturday address to the public that putting the decision in the hands of the people's representatives was more in line with the country's democratic ideals.

"I know that the country will be stronger if we take this course, and our actions will be even more effective," he said.

Local U.S. Rep. Yvette Clarke took to Twitter over the weekend to discuss the issue, saying she agreed with the President's decision to ask for Congressional approval.

"I applaud President Obama's decision to request authorization from Congress prior to the use of force in Syria," Clarke tweeted. "We need to deliberate prior to the use of force in Syria."

How do you think Clarke should vote on the matter? Share your thoughts on this issue in the comments.
