Justice At Atlantic Yards Rally

The Barclays Arena opens in September and the Committee For Arena Justice believes for all the subsidies the developer has received, the community has not seen the public benefit promised, the jobs promised, the housing promised nor the community involvement that FCRC (Forest City Ratner Companies) has claimed.

The Committee's goals include getting stronger oversight and transparency by way of the Independent Compliance Monitor that still hasn't been hired.  In addition to demanding the housing and jobs promised, we shouldn't have to wait 25 years (the new time line for the project) to get them.

The committe will be joined by Brooklyn Speaks, 5th Avenue Committee, Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn and others.  Speakers include Rev. Clinton M. Miller, Rev. John Murz, Rev. Conrad Councilwoman Tish James, State Senator Velmanette Montgomery and others.
